Notice to Survivors of Human Trafficking
If you are a survivor of sex or labor trafficking, federal law (FCRA § 605C; 12 CFR § 1022.142) gives you the right to request that consumer reporting agencies block adverse information on your credit report that resulted from trafficking.
How to request a block
- Proof of identity (per 12 CFR § 1022.123, e.g., government ID or other acceptable documentation).
- Trafficking documentation showing a victim determination by a Federal, State, or Tribal government entity; a court; or an NGO/task force authorized by such an entity (a consumer’s signed statement may be used if signed/certified by one of the foregoing).
- Identification of adverse items you believe resulted from trafficking (account numbers, creditor names, dates, etc.).

What happens next
- We will block the identified items within four (4) business days after receiving your submission.
- If more information is needed, we will notify you within five (5) business days and attempt to resolve any deficiencies.
- We will make a final determination within twenty-five (25) business days and notify you of the outcome.
- We retain records related to your submission for seven (7) years.
